The dystopian thriller, "Tomorrow War", was written in 2015 by bestselling author J.L. Bourne. His main character Max, a government operative, goes through harrowing situations in the aftermath of a global financial collapse he unwittingly caused by planting a modem at the Syrian border - a weapon that unleashed a cyber-worm attack - breaking down society's infrastructure.

Here are some of the circumstances Max had to quickly adapt to:

• Within the first few days, shopping for food and gas turned into a life or death situation;

• Gold per ounce had a "street value" that far exceeded the prior market value;

• The best items Max bartered with was food, cigarettes and ammo;

• Living in a remote area of Arkansas was not a guarantee of safety and security. The masses from a nearby city would show up to either ask for or demand food and shelter;

• A de facto government took over the local one with biker thugs as their police and military force for lawlessness to reign supreme;
