Synchronicity: Empower Your Life with the Gift of Coincidence
 Friday, February 26
12 p.m. (PT)/2 p.m. (Central)/3 p.m. (ET)
A Live & Online Broadcast

For Beyond 50's "Personal Growth" talks, listen to an interview with Chris Mackey.  He is a clinical psyhologist in Australia.  He'll talk about synchronicity as the way in which the Universe personally communicates with each of us - letting us know whether we're on the right track.  He also offers astounding case studies, alongside a lucid explanation of the brain science underlying synchronicity.  Mackey's own experiences with synchronicity lead to advocating for "positive psychiatry" and a new approach to treating mental illness, focused on a person's strengths.

Ger Lyons: Global Healer, Celtic Mystic, Spiritual Teacher, Metaphysicist
For Beyond 50's "Spirituality" talks, listen to an interview with Ger Lyons from Ireland.  For 30 years Ger has studied many healing traditions from around the world including pre-Celtic Druidic traditions, which have opened and empowered him as a healer, as many ancient gifts have emerged from his own paternal Druidic Blood Line.  Some years ago, Lyons was attacked and brutally traumatized, which left him severely mutilated and wounded with deep scars, and in an extreme state of agonizing pain in a totally burned out body.  Survival was unlikely.  Death would have been a blessing.  He was driven and inspired to survive.  Four harrowing years later, his healing gift had paid off.  The healer completely healed himself.  This experience led him to receive an incredibly deep, first hand insight and understanding of how trauma operates in the body; how the body deals with it; and how it is possible to heal it.  His work is about helping people to realize the limitless potential and possibilities of our true expression for life's mystery.

PG-50+ Movie Reviews
Beyond 50 only recommends films that are creatively responsible to reveal the finest qualities of the human spirit; allow you to think and feel deeply about life; make your heart soar; and champion human rights.

Eddie the Eagle
Inspired by true events, the film is a fictionalized telling of Michael "Eddie" Edwards who represented Great Britain as a ski jumper in the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics.  You'll have fun rooting for him as the underdog.  His big dream is to compete in the Olympics, no matter what the sport, as long as he can qualify.  The only one with the easiest barrier to cross is Ski Jumping.  There's no competition for him in his country.  He goes against all the odds: severely far sighted, uncoordinated, socially awkward, poor, dealing with a dream-killing father, and considered a laughingstock by the British Olympic Committee.  He dreams on, embodying the true Olympic spirit in an optimistic and naive way.  Eddie is coached by Bronson Peary, a rebellious drunkard who was a former ski jump prodigy.  Their pairing is a mismatch that's wacky, yet heartwarming.  (Available in Theatres Everywhere; Genre: Drama; Running Time: 1 hr., 45 min.)

Only Yesterday
Just released in the U.S., this Japanese anime premiered in 1991.  A visually beautiful classic, the film is set in the year 1982.  Taeko is a 27-year-old single office worker living in a tiny apartment in Tokyo.  She is ready for a change and on a whim, travels to see her cousins living in the countryside and being met by Toshio, a family friend who grows organic saffron.  The train trip triggers long-held memories of her youth, especially from her 5th grade self who has come along for the ride.  She's flooded with images of her past: not fitting in well in school or at home.  Many watching will relate to reflecting on your past to come to terms with your life.  It's also about finding your place in a fast-paced, modern world.  (Available in Select Theatres; Genre: Drama, Animation, Romance, Art House & International; Running Time: 1 hr., 58 min.)

Where to Invade Next
Famous documentary filmmaker, Michael Moore, wants to make America great again.  He "invades" countries around the world with a smile to learn how they handle similar problems faced in America in a more practical and solution-oriented way.  He looks into how they deal with incarceration, drug decriminalization, education, the workforce, women's rights and more.  What they practice in other places will surprise you.  Their brilliant and innovative way of handling these issues could be adopted in the U.S.  They were made possible in other countries through unions and citizen engagement(Available in Select Theatres; Genre: Documentary; Running Time: 1 hr., 50 min.)
