Actor & Comedian, Aasif Mandvi
For Beyond 50's "Celebrity" talks, listen to an interview with Aasif Mandvi.  He's known weekly as the television correspondent on "The Daily Show with John Stewart" and the films, "The Internship" and "Million Dollar Arm."  He'll talk about his complicated background: a baby born in Bombay, a boy raised in northern England, a teenager transplanted to Florida, and now as a man living in New York.  He'll reveal the many, and often contradictory, layers of identity that make up who he has become today.  From British boarding school bullies branding him "Curry Pot" and casting directors passing him over for not being "Indian" enough, to reading the Koran at a bible study group during college.  His life has become a source of both confusion and inspiration.

The Happiness of Pursuit
For Beyond 50's "Personal Growth" talk, listen to an interview with Chris Guillebeau.  When he set out to visit all of the planet’s 193 countries by age thirty-five, he imagined that his journey’s biggest revelation would be how many people like himself exist — each pursuing a challenging quest. The more Guillebeau spoke with these strivers, the more he began to appreciate the direct link between questing and long-term happiness - how going after something in a methodical way enriches our lives - and he was compelled to complete a comprehensive study of the phenomenon. Guillebeau will explain about  to get there, the difficulties we may face along the way, and ultimately the joy that can be gained from the journey.
