 Dreaming with Polar Bears
   Friday, November 14
12 p.m. (PT)/2 p.m. (Central)/3 p.m. (ET)
 A Live & Online Broadcast

For Beyond 50's "Spirituality" talks, listen to an interview with Dawn Baumann Brunke.  She'll talk about her lucid dreaming encounters with living polar bears and teachins from the council of polar bear spirits and how to consciously co-dream with animals through shared awareness, and form human--animal dream relationships.  Over many years, Brunke, an animal communicator dreamed of polar bears.  One night, a lucid dream triggered the realization that not only was she dreaming of a living polar bear but also that the polar bear was dreaming of her.  Through shared dream encounters, Brunke became adept at connecting with the bear both while asleep and awake.  Together, they explored nonphysical locales where lucid dreamers meet to join in consciousness and co-dream together.

Soldier Girls
For Beyond 50's "History" talks, listen to an interview with Helen Thorpe, a nationally renowned journalist.  She'll talk about following the lives of three military women over the course of 12 years.  More American women served in Iraq and Afghanistan than in any other war, yet their role in the miliary has been hotly debated.  You'll learn from Thorpe about how these three women of the Indiana National Guard related to each other (not always easily); what their s*x lives are like (often very active), and whome they're sleeping with (their superiors, the plentiful suppply of enlisted men, and another woman); the plain-as-day discrimination they face; how they win the respect of male colleagues; and what their secrets are (substance abuse and infidelity, among others).  Thorpe also follows the challenges the women face when they return to the Midwest: their economic struggles, and the relationships at home that have been made difficult by their time away.
