Hell or Highwater! Kayaking the World's Largest Gorge in Tibet
Imagine a gorge that is 3X deeper and 8X steeper than the Grand Canyon. Now imagine kayaking its treacherous waters. It's called the Tsangpo River Gorge in Eastern Tibet that is considered sacred to Buddhists and is the inspiration for James Hilton's "Shangri-La." For Beyond 50's "Travel" talks, listen to an interview with Peter Heller who followed a whitewater expedition to kayak these waters and lived to tell about it. He'll also discuss about his great experiences with the Tibetans of the area.
