Nourishing You:
Transform Your Relationship with You & Your Body

For Beyond 50's "Natural Healing" talks, listen to an interview with Jolene Wright and Zoe Waggoner of Nourishing You.  They will talk about how to transform you relationship with food and your body; address emotional eating; and embrace the body you have!  Through hypnotherapy and experiential exercises, you'll have the skills to practice mindfulness; slow down; savor; explore true nourishment; and WAKE UP to your life!

Mindful Eating Tips:
Tip # 1 The Basic Mindful Bite - As you bring the food to your mouth, slow down and become aware of your movements and take a nice deep breath before continuing.  Keep chewing until the food is uniformly smooth.  After swallowing and before your next bite, rest.  Take a breath in and exhale it out slowly to savor the tastes that linger in your mouth.

Tip #2 Find Your Bite Size - Take a bite at your next meal, notice- with out judgement, but with curiosity what is your bite size?  Then take the time to eat that bite mindfully using the basic mindful bite technique.  Now, take another bite make this bite smaller or larger and apply the mindful bite technique again. Do this two or three times.  Notice the difference in your ability to really eat each different size bite mindfully.  Choose the bite size that allows you to eat and enjoy each bite with the most mindfulness.

Tip #3 Eat What You Love and Love What You Eat! - Enjoy the things you love to eat.  Simply choose to eat less of it.  Portion control is the key player in your ability to release excess weight or maintain a healthy weight during the holidays and all year long.

Bonus Tip  #4 - Have fun to play and use different size plates and bowls and even different size spoons and forks.  It is a bit a trick for the mind.
